The basis for CryptoFights battle mechanics is the D20 system an RPG system
first developed for Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition. CryptoFights uses dice rolls and integers
for all combat calculations. Why? - Two reasons:
Dice rolls provide transparency on how the outcome of the battle is calculated. Players can see how chance is factored into actions and can use basic whole number math
to validate the outcome manually
Reward anticipation of a dice roll synergizes with real cash prizes
CryptoFights battle logic can be test played on pen and paper. The pen and paper RPG aesthetic/stylish/historical relationship with dice-based combat also provides some context and ‘magic’ to using dice.
